Below is a list of all the whisky that we stock, complete with descriptions and origins. Sitting alongside this array of whisky, we stock a selection of fine Single Barrel Malts. We also have an ever changing ‘Malt of The Moment’ which is selected by the Manager and displayed on our Malt Board at the bar. Lovers of Dewars may recognise this as its signature malt. Medium body with a heathery and light peaty nose.

The village of Aberlour lies in the heart of the Speyside. Malty and spicy nose with a long lasting flavour. - An Cnoc12 year old (40%) / £4.2Speyside
An Cnoc is Gaelic for “the hill”. The full name of the distillery in Gaelic is Cnoc Dubh (Black Hill). In English this translates as Knockdhu. This distillery has no connection Knockando (Little black hill) Established in 1890.

From Ardmore and bottled by Gordon and MacPhail Ardmore 1993 is a Speyside malt and as such it is unusual that it has a notably smoky character.
- Arran10 year old (46%) / £4.3A unique single malt scotch whisky that captures the character of this beautiful island of pure mountain water and soft sea air, washed by the Gulf stream.
- Arran12 year old cask strength (54.1%) / £5.95Island
Bottled at its natural Cask Strength this Malt has a tasteful peach and nectrarine nose to it followed by a long spicy finish with nutmeg and orange. - Auchentoshan12 year old (40%) / £4.3Lowlands
Auchentoshan’s more recent release to replace the previous 10 Year old whisky. It has an exotic fruity nose with a long dry finish and a touch of sweetness from the barley. - Auchroisk10 year old (43%) / £5.3Speyside
A pure single malt with exceptionally mellow overtones. Aged in sherry casks from Spain, gives a smooth balanced taste with a deep rich fruit finish.

Situated by Edderton in Ross-Shire, Balblair Distillery was founded in 1790, although there are records showing details of distilling as far back as 1749. A light to medium body gives way to a spicy, sometimes salty palate. - Balvenie12 year old double wood (40%) / £4.8Speyside

Rum-soaked raisins roasted fruits, spices and a hint of vanilla are all immediately noticed when you take in the smell of this malt. The finish is long with dried fruit and warm spices. A fantastic whisky living up to what you would expect from a whisky of this age.

A sweet malty whisky with an elegant smokiness. Hints of pear, apple and cured bacon. These are all scents that you may notice when breathing in the aroma of this Malt. The taste is a smoky bonfire ash initially with a peppery spiciness, fruity elements finally followed by the pear and apple we smelt at first.

This malt smells woody and spicy with a hint of caramel and resin. Tasting Oaky with a toffee sweetness and freshly cut overripe fruit this malt has a satisfying fresh fresh.

As you first breath in you will notice prominent peat smoke with a barley sweetness leading into citrus fruits and peat smoke. The finish is ashy with further citrus fruits.

Nutty with sherried notes, Crisp with a gentle peat to the nose. This Whisky has a malty sweet full bodied taste with a hint of citrus and peels.

Very floral to the nose with lots of peat and additional smoky heather, Hay and zesty orange. This Malt has a lovely rounded, perfumed smoke and a dark peaty blossom taste.

Sherry notes, juicy Corinth raisins, spices and sweet dates are all scents picked up when nosing this malt. It brings a rich woody, syrupy and smoky cream toffee malt taste to the palate with a beautiful toffee, sherry and barley finish.

Thick and oily with that instantly recognisable Bruichladdich maritime tang, this is a fabulous whisky that has captured perfectly the wonderful characteristics of the previous 10 year old and somehow improved upon them. Beautifully balanced and dangerously easy to drink it’s a must buy whisky.

Glowing amber with a light delicate nose. Light to medium bodied with a fruity, full and refreshing finish.

Fresh and herbal to the nose with hints of peppermint leaves, stemmy damp grass and oily smoked ham. This whisky brings a good bodied, oily, elegant smoky taste with hints of boiled sweets.

Cardhu is the soft heart of Johnnie Walker blends. Pale in colour with a light smooth body it has a lingering sweetness and a hint of peat.

Sweet and spicy to the nose with a hint of ground almond and juicy sultanas. With Corinth raisins, dried fruit, mixed peels, hints of cocoa butter, black pepper and sherried peels as some of the most obvious elements to the palate this is a great whisky at an incredibly low price considering its age.

Perfumed with a hint of cut grass and cereal aromas to the nose. The taste is subtle with pronounced sweetness and spice.

This is a wonderful Malt. Fruity with a hint of smoke. Beautiful taste. Drink sparingly.

A truly stand alone distillery and one of the best know to connoisseurs. Situated about a mile from the river Spey with the largest stills on Speyside. A straw gold, delicately light, sweet malty, leaving a long slightly spicy finish.

To the nose this whisky presents a Rich, dark smoky, sherry scent with a hint of sugared peels. The taste brings a thick, creamy sherry, buttery, spicy, malt loaf, herbal and fresh sensation.

A fantastic Highland malt. You will be immediately impressed by the smooth rich taste and the velvet slide as it goes down. The after taste can only be described as smile inducing. It is almost impossible to say “Yes please. I will have another.”

To the nose this whisky presents a dark and pungent charcoal, slightly phenolic, hint of tar with a touch of dry ropes. Supple to the palate, full, rich and peaty with a touch of sweetness, tangy fruit and wood.

Light, fragrant, fresh, green, dried grass. Resinous with beeswax and a honey sweetness to the nose. Soft, smooth, dried grass, fruity, calvados. Malty and nutty to the palate.
- Glenburgie10 year old (40%) / £4.0Speyside
The nose is quite full and rich with notes of sherried sultanas and dried mixed peel. Notes of oak with chewy tannins and a slightly phenolic, sulphury note of bitumen. The palate is quite sweet with winter berries and mixed fruit and nuts, with a little malt loaf thrown in for good measure. The finish is gentle and supple with a little toasted malt loaf.
- Glencadam10 year old (46%) / £4.0Highland
No brown dye, no chill-filtration and bottled at 46% – The distillery are showing respect, even before purchase. A great value single malt and a good choice if your after something different from the usual. Mouthwateringly Moorish this whisky surprises with its different angle on the Highland malt. If you want an unpeated whisky that holds its own against more established distilleries this is certainly worth a look.

The nose offers up a fresh greenness with toasty cereal notes and dried barley sugar, Tones of wood shavings and blossom with a musty attic note. A touch of cream and grist and a pleasant floral note. The palate is full of stemmy cut hay notes and an earthen rooty quality. There are toasted cereal notes and wood shavings with a grist and soft oak. The finish is long and full of cereal and dry wood notes.

A smooth, huge whisky with plenty of maltiness. Highly regarded within the industry for its quality.
- Glenfiddich12 year old (40%) / £4.1Speyside
A fresh and fragrant nose with a touch of pear. It has a distinctive, well balanced taste with rich fruit flavours, subtle pine and a hint of peatiness.
- Glenfiddich15 year old distillery edition (51%) / £5.7Speyside
Splendid malt. An explosion of flavour. Still manages to retain a complex evolution of flavours and development of notes. The nose is intoxicating with it’s rich fruit and strength promising a full bodied powerful taste; the high strength is perfect, what could be overwhelming with so many notes and hints is grounded in rich Christmas cake and dark baked figs, to which pepper, slight vanilla and creamy toffee underlie. The finish expands upon the figs with pleasant sweetness and a very slight sour taste which is prevalent in the 12 year old expression. Glenfiddich have truly outdone themselves with this malt.

Don’t let the fact that Glenfiddich are the biggest sellers of Single Malt whisky put you off. They sell more because they produce high class malts. Many malts finished in sherry casks are overwhelmed by the rich sherry flavours but in this case the oloroso adds to the already rich mix of orange, ginger and toffee. The end result is one of the best 18 year olds on the market at a bargain price.
- Glengoyne10 year old (40%) / £4.0Highland
Situated only 12 miles from Glasgow this picturesque distillery produces an unpeated malt of differing vintages.
- Glenglassaugh Revival(46%) / £4.3Speyside
The Glenglassaugh distillery was closed in 1986 but resumed production in 2008. This revival bottling is the first whisky to be made at the distillery since it reopened. Matured in a mixture of first and refill bourbon casks, this was finished for 6 months in first-fill oloroso sherry butts.
- Glenkinchie12 year old (43%) / £4.3Lowland
The nose is quite light, yet fragrant. Notes of fresh cereal and grist, some barley sweetness and a nutty note. Acacia honey creeps in with gentle warmth. The palate is very fruity with notes of Madeira and sweet stewed fruits. A hint of calvados and tannic oak lining the mouth. There is a freshness and roundness to this dram. The finish is of medium length with notes of cereal and a fresh greenness.
- Glenlivet12 year old (40%) / £4.3Speyside
The nose is full and rich. There is a sweet creamy vanilla with warm pastries and toffee, fudge notes and aniseed. A strong toasty cereal notes emerges with a touch of oak. The palate is quite thick and warm. There is a thick aniseed note with dried peels and fudge. The finish is long and warming.
- Glenmorangie Lasanta(46%) / £5.5Highland
The nose is creamy and of caramel, crme anglaise and chocolate raisins, quite dry with notes of mixed sweet spices. The mouth feel is very thick as you chew through honeyed raisins. The is a little sweet beeswax, melted vanilla ice cream as teh sherry weaves gently through the palate, a very buttery expression. Much more of that honey in the cream finish, it has a slight oaky dryness and a dusting of cocoa powder.
- Glenmorangie Original(40%) / £4.0Highland
A great middle range whisky. Robust, smoky and rich. A great everyday whisky.
- Glenmorangie Quinta(46%) / £5.5Highland
The nose is full of winter berries and a touch of port. A good oak a little ceral hangin in the substratum. The palate is sweet and thick. The port note is chewy and rich with notes of barley sugar and cereal and lots of juicy fruit and berries, a tad cloying. The finish is long and fruity and quite sweet.
- Glentauchers1991 (43%) / £5.2Speyside
The nose retains a good sweetness with juicy peels and chewy sultanas. Notes of stemmy hay and a greenness pertain a good freshness. There are notes of mocchaccino with a little nuttiness. The palate is rich and full with creamy vanilla fudge. A little toasted oak spice and cereal notes with sherried raisins. The finish is warm and malty with creamy fudge.
- Glenturret10 year old (40%) / £4.2Highland
The nose is full with malted barley and toasty cereal. Notes of nutty oiliness, a touch of fruit peels and a herbal tones. There is a good oaken honeyed sweetness. The palate is fruity and rich with thick sweetness and well-balanced oaked tannins. A touch of cut hay and a little earthen notes. The finish is of medium-length with a beautiful sweetness.
- Hazelburn CV(46%) / £4.1Campbeltown
Nose: Straw and malt aromas with some sort of metallic pear-like note. A muted fruitiness. Cider apples, some lemon drops, orange peel. Mouth: Malty sweetness with cereal notes. Some oranges and vanilla cream. Hints of dry herbs. Finish: medium length with more spices and caramel.
- Highland Park12 year old (40%) / £4.2Island
The nose is fresh, clean and very aromatic. Floral notes abound the senses with a light grassiness. Notes of creamy manuka honey and a touch of juicy citrus with cream and a well-balanced sweetness. The palate is quite full with a pleasant subtlety to the depths. Lurking somewhere in the substratum a grilled orange lies. Notes of Granary toast and green tea with Jasmine. A touch of sweetness. The finish is quite long with peppered spicy wood shavings.
- Highland Park18 year old (43%) / £10.95Island
The nose is a profusion of ripe floral notes and fresh blossom with a delectable fruit salad. Notes of honeyed exotic fruits with a little botrytis. The palate is creamy and full with fruit conserves and espresso. A creaminess with cinnamon and allspice. Notes of toffee with thick black forest honey with a touch more citrus. The finish long and well sugared with a herbal edge. - Highland Park30 year old (48.1%) / £29.95Island
The nose is full and rich. Some floral notes develop with hints of acacia honey. Dark toffee with honeycomb and notes of juicy sultana. There are some date notes with a touch of sugary fresh pastry. The palate is warm and rich. Notes of winter spice and sherried raisins, hints of mixed peels and manuka honey sweetness. A little mocchaccino note lies somewhere in the mix with a little rum. The finish is long with toasty oaked spice.
- Inverleven1991 (40%) / £6.95Lowland
Fragrant aromas with hints of freshly cut grass and citrus fruits. On the palate there are subtle spices with new oak and hints of plain chocolate. - Jura10 year old (40%) / £4.5Island
The nose has a freshness with notes of damp hay and soft, malty cereal notes. A touch of peat with gentle oak and arak with blossom tones. The palate is thick and gfull with more cereal, this time a barley fudge sweetness creeps in with creamy smoothness and a touch of aniseed. The finish is long with peppy winter spice.
- Jura Superstition(43%) / £4.9Island
Two styles of spirit from Jura distillery are combined to produce this stunning, beautifully balanced single malt.
- Kilchoman Machir Bay(46%) / £8.95Islay
With a lovely smoky peat note balanced with sweet fruit and pepper. Definitely up there with the other Islay giants.
- Knockando12 year old (43%) / £4.3Speyside
The nose is quite gentle and very fragrant. Notes of waxy manuka honey, hints of malty barley and roots with a touch of stemmy cut hay. There is a very supple, chewy peat lying quietly in the background. The palate is quite full with notes of heather roots and damp earth, notes of honeyed sweetness with Jamaica ginger cake, a touch of rum and malty peat. The finish is quite long with winter spice and crystallized stem ginger with cereal notes.
- Lagavulin16 year old (43%) / £5.9Islay
A much sought-after single malt with the massive peat-smoke that’s typical of southern Islay but offering a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting dram.
- Laphroaig10 year old (40%) / £4.3Islay
Really smoky and iodine rich. This has to be one of Scotland’s most characterful drams. Laphroaig are known for their medicinal malts, and the classic 10 year old is no exception. Little known fact. The founder of Laphroaig died after falling into a vat of whisky!
- Ledaig10 year old (46.3%) / £4.2Island
The nose is quite light and well-balanced. There is a very soft peat with gentle smoke. Notes of barley and malt extract with walnut and pine oil and a hint of iodine with notes of dried fruit and nuts. The palate is medium-bodied and quite rich. There are notes of spice and smoke gathering above the charred oak. The peat is quiet and dry with a touch of black pepper and earth. The finish is of medium-length and slightly smoky with spice.
- Leinburn12 year old (43%) / £4.0Speyside
A very nice speyside dram. Light, fruity with a long lingering smooth finish. Leinburn is named from the little burn that ran into the River Spey.
- Linkwood12 year old (43%) / £5.6Speyside
A remarkably flowery malt with a medium rounded body and a dryish smooth finish.
- Loch Lomond(40%) / £4.0Highland
The nose is quite light with notes of leather and wood shavings and musty old attic with some cereal notes and a creaminess. The palate is quite full with notes of stemmy hay and musty cellar, hints of toasted granary bread with cereal notes, barley sweetness and a biscuit quality. The finish is quite long and full of cereal notes.
- Longmorn12 year old (43%) / £4.4Speyside
The nose is full of juicy fruit notes. Apple peels and Calvados. Barley sugar and acacia honey with notes of gentle smoke and a good dry oak. The palate is of medium-body. There are notes of citrus and dried, sugared mixed peels. There are some toasted cereal notes and orange blossom honey, notes of malt extract and juicy barley. The finish is of good length with notes of barley and orange blossom honey.
- Longrow(46%) / £4.0Cambeltown
A big smoky hit, and a clean sweet character underneath.
- Macallan Gold(40%) / £4.3Speyside
Deep amber in colour, with a slight sweet nose. Least peaty of all malts with a slight sherry nose. Very smooth with hints of sherry and wood. Well rounded and slightly sweet.
- Macallan Rare Cask(43%) / £18.5Hand crafted using an exceptionally high proportion of first fill sherry oak casks, handpicked by our whisky maker, from less then 1% of the casks maturing at the Macallan distillery.
- Macphails Glenrothes8 year old (40%) / £4.2Speyside
Well fruited with barley sweetness. A touch of apple peel and a green freshness. A touch of something leather with a little toasted cereal notes and vanilla.
- Macphails Old Pulteney12 year old (40%) / £4.0Highland
The nose is thick and full and very smoky. Notes of burning seaweed and hay with nut oils and recently extinguished fire. There is a good sea spray, pounding the shore inextricably with dry woods and pot pourri. The palate is thick and full with oily seaweed and iodine, the coastal notes are really coming into their own with tarry ropes and leather. The finish is long and full with plenty of oak and peppered heat.
- Macphails Tamdhu10 year old (40%) / £4.7Speyside
The nose is full of juicy sultanas and sherried peels. Note of bitter chocolate and vanilla fudge, dried peels, Parfait Aamour and thick syrupy notes with wood shavings and dry pine. The palate is very full and rich. Notes of raisins and creamy caramel. Notes of cut herbs with balanced tannins and acidity. Notes of chewy red dessert wines and bitter chocolate and burnt sugar. The finish is long and tannic.

The nose is punchy and malty. There are notes of dry oak and orchard fruits with a citric character. The palate is fruity and dry, all spice and ground ginger with aniseed and herbal notes. The finish is hot and nutty with cereal sweetness. - Milton Duff10 year old (40%) / £3.9Speyside
The nose is of medium body, notes of malmsey, sherried peels, fruit salad, honeyed cigar box notes and tablet. There are hints of oaked tannins rising gently. The palate is quite full and well-balanced. Notes of toffee and Seville marmalade, shades of buttery fudge and spicy oak with peppery warmth. The finish is of good length with soft wood tapering out.
- Mortlach15 year old (43%) / £4.95Speyside
The nose is rich with cereal sweetness and warm barley. Apple blossom rises without effort and notes of malmsey and stewed fruits and Christmas punch emerge with spice and muffin. The palate is quite full and quite sweet. The cereal notes return with a syrupy texture. Shades of sherried sultanas and notes of freshly cut fruit salad, hints if toasty oak with obligatory vanilla spice and peppery warmth. The finish is long with the fruit and spice rising readily from the oak.

The nose is rich and smoky. The medicinal notes are quite evident with notes of the sea; seaweed, tarry ropes. There are notes of cut hay and wood smoke rising with a gentle estery sweetness. The palate is thick and full. Notes of citrus and smooth sweetness. The smoke wafts with notes of seaweed. The oak is quite rich with grist and cereal and malt. The finish is of good length with fruit and dry oak.

- Poit Dhubh8 year old (43%) / £3.7Island
A blended malt, Poit Dhubh is a mellow, lightly peated whisky that comprises mostly of Talisker which reflects the fact its parent company, Praban, based on the Isle of Skye. The remainder of the blend is composed of various Speyside malts which imparts and matured partly in sherry casks which lends it the typically rich flavours you would expect. Poit Dhubh is prounced “potch ghoo” and means “black pot”, which is the gaelic term for an “illicit still”. It comes unchilfiltered at 43%.

The distillery lies on the banks of the river Dee. One and a half miles from Balmoral, the whisky received the royal seal from Queen Victoria. Lightly smoky with a sweet malt taste. It has a sherry nose and a smoky finish.

The nose is quite thick with notes of honeycomb and toffee. There are some notes of dried peels and notes of marmalade with a malty texture. The palate is full-bodied with a silken delivery. Notes of heather roots and cut grasses, honeyed oak notes with winter spices; cinnamon and cloves. There are some acacia honey notes. The finish is long and developing with notes of dry oak and a gentle, weaving smoke.
- Sheep Dip(40%) / £3.9Wonderfully integrated flavours of honey, toffee and chocolate shavings, with hints of good quality sherry and subtle whispers of smoke and peat. Beautifully rounded and pleasant with a bit of heat in it.

A pleasant but underdramatic whisky. As described by the distillers really “perfectly balanced, naturally rich and smooth”.
- Smokehead(43%) / £4.3Smokehead is a superb, cult single malt. Just a massive, thick peat smoke rich dram. Plenty of great south Islay character.
- Speyburn10 year old (40%) / £4.0Highland
The nose is quite citrusy and zesty. Sugared orange peels and herbal notes, wood shavings and pine oil, rubbed spearmint leaves and winter spice. There are notes of malted barley and cereal sweetness. The palate is of medium-body and quite smooth. There are well-balanced notes of cereal sweetness and arak, malt extract and aniseed with hints of something herbaceous and a touch of smoke,. The finish is quite long with lots of barley.

A sweet sherry aroma with a strong highland toffee aroma. Subtle orange peel and grapefruit aromas develop. Initially peppery to the taste with a creamy milk chocolate edge and a hint of brazil nuts.
- Springbank Calvados Wood Expression(52.7%) / £4.4Campbeltown
Green apples, pears and limes arrive on the nose first followed by the rhubarb and grapes on the palate with a hint of brine and peat smoke. The finish is long and robust with notes of gooseberries and stewing citrus fruits. This Springbank shows off the Calvados cask well and has a lovely oiliness on the plate.

The nose is rich and of good body some notes of wood oils and resins, rubbed petals, winter spice and cereal sweetness. There are notes of marmalade and hints of bourbon with a thick creaminess. The palate is thick and full. There are notes of thick cream and honeyed raisins. Sultana notes emerge with a little Madeira and mixed peels. The oak develops into the finish, which is fruity and spirit.

The nose is of good body with plenty of nut oils and zest, a pleasant floral character with a little tropical fruit and a rooty note. The palate is smooth adn soft with good sweetness and winter spice. A lovely citrus note develops with more tropical fruit notes and a little rum. The finish is medium with fruit and zest.

The palate is quite sweet and light. There are notes of acacia honey and a soft oak, the smoke adn peppers thereof rise gently with a touch of dried fruit and peel with a cinnamon note. The finish is long and herbal with a touch of pepper.

There are notes of barley sugar and toasty cereals, acacia honey and malt extract with notes of honeycomb and toffee with a touch of vanilla fudge. The finish is quite short, yet charming.

The nose is full and pungent. There are notes of heather roots and wood smoke. A dark peat with notes of copper and pine oils with a touch of gentle sweetness from the barley malt. The palate is quite rich and powerful. There are notes of toasted oak with notes of pepper and the smoke thereof. Notes of toasty cereals and supple peat. A wistful ash note builds. This is a delicious 25 year old from the Tullibardine distillery. It boasts all of that typically malty, creamy, slightly spicy taste that you would expect from this distillery. - Tullibardine 225 Sauternes Finish(43%) / £4.5Highland
Distilled at Tullibardine in the Highlands, this is a very tasty new whisy which was finished in a 225 litre cask (thus the name) which previously help maturing Sauternes dessert wine from Chateau Suduiraut. The result is a golden-coloured single malt with a deliciously creamy, fruity flavour. - Tullibardine Sovereign(43%) / £4.0Highland
Adorned with golden detailing, Tullibardine Sovereign is a delicious creamy single malt which was aged in first-fill bourbon barrels before bottling. Expect plenty of vanilla and spice from this Highland Dram.
